Angeles Freewaves Festival
Cypress
Park: AMPLIFIED will gather
Los Angeles-based artists using video, sound and digital media in varied
ways. Truthful to Mario’s Furniture’s philosophy, the space
offers these artists the prospect to experiment with their work, albeit
new or older pieces, giving them free range within the space and full
access to the available technical equipment -- projectors, monitors, editing
facilities, screening room, etc.
The show is curated by Chloé R. Ziegler.
Five
artists will present screenings and installations of their work:
Iza
Jadach
with Buenos (a.k.a Chicken Legs),a mn video piece
Charles
LaBelle
with Trampled Under Foot, a double exterior 2-hour projection
Margaret
Morgan
with 4 screenings of ToiletTraining, a 26 mn projection
Steve
Roden
with
a sound piece created especially for the event
Alessandro
Violi
with an interactive virtual video show on computer monitors
The program will present these 5 pieces running simultaneously, yet
independently from one another.
